Huawei latest device is the Nova 9, which is a successor to the Nova 8 that was just launched a few months ago. We at Amanz have been testing this device for a few weeks and in this review article, we will share the experience of using this device. The Nova 9 looks very similar to the Honor 50 – but what’s the difference and which one is worth buying?
It seems that the strategy of the device manufacturer from China now is to launch two different models in the same series in one year. Redmi with their Note series, Oppo with Reno, Huawei with Nova and many more.
Many are wondering, is it still worth buying a Nova device because there is no GMS? Our answer is, if you do not give it a chance and have the courage to try – until already this device will not be harmonious. But, the important question is-Nova 9 vs Honor 50. Although these two are more or less the same, but the user experience is much different.

The Nova 9 comes with a 6.57-inch screen of OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate support. It is powered by a 4G version of the Snapdragon 778G chip; the memory is 8/256 GB, with a quad-camera configuration of 50+8+2+2 Megapixels; and the selfie camera is the same 32MP on the previous Nova 8.
The battery is larger than the Nova 8; which is 4300mAh with fast charging support Huawei SuperCharge 66W, stays with mono speakers; also available is a bottom -screen fingerprint scanner and it runs Android 11 with EMUI 12 interface; which promises to receive Harmony OS updates no still a long way to go.
The device is also designed with a slightly different design from other Nova devices, but still tries to retain the premium design elements of Huawei android like from the P series. This rather odd looking camera module may not be everyone’s taste. No matter on the mocking image or in front of the face, it still looks weird. The arrangement of the lenses does not make it easy for the eyes to look at each module. It’s like the first time seeing fear or a hole on the screen of a device.
